OUR FAMILY'S SPORTS JOURNEY

A PARENT'S PERSPECTIVE

Some athletes set a demanding standard for themselves long before anyone else says a word. Parents may notice the pressure even when it is not spoken aloud.

The goal is not to remove every challenge. It is to help a child separate their value from a single performance or result.

A calm, open conversation can make it easier for a young athlete to share what they are carrying.

What sports parents should know

  • Self-imposed pressure can be difficult to see from the outside.
  • A child’s worth is bigger than a result.
  • Parents can make room for honest conversations about pressure and confidence.

YOUR HAPPY MOMENT

Tell your child one thing you value about them that has nothing to do with how they perform.
